Originating in the Indus Valley Civilization, the art form has adapted & enriched over the years with artisans uninhibited in their imagination and creativity. As per Hindu beliefs, the five elements of air, water, earth, fire, and ether lends this art form an air of mystery and auspiciousness. The terracotta Art Form started tasking shape in Bengal in the 16th century as a substitute of stone carvings. With the influence of Vaishnavite movement Terracotta sculpting found expression on the Krishna temples built by Kings of 6th and 7th century Bengal.. The Srejonee Mahabharata Set of 24 tiles depict the entire story of the greatest epic starting from Maharshi Vyas reciting it to the writer Lord Ganesha till King Yudhisthira reaching heaven at the end.
